I’m Joan Manuel, a photographer based in Carrizal (Ingenio) specializing in maternity photography. After completing a Higher Diploma (CFGS) in Artistic Photography and experiencing fatherhood with two children, I learned how maternity memories become lifelong treasures. My mission is simple: to capture the moment… the instant… and transform that emotion into images you will always recognise as yours. I approach maternity sessions with an intimate and respectful eye. I focus on enhancing each mother’s natural beauty—using maternity gowns, your own wardrobe, lingerie, tasteful semi-nude or artistic nude options—always after a prior conversation to define the style you want. I offer sessions both in my Carrizal studio and on location across Gran Canaria, selecting places that provide beautiful light and atmosphere: beaches, natural parks and characterful corners. My working method is designed to make you feel comfortable and confident from the first moment. I believe in a calm, friendly approach: we talk before the session, coordinate wardrobe and details, and during the shoot I guide you with gentle directions to capture natural, authentic gestures. If you wish, the session can include solo maternity portraits, partner shots, or family portraits with other children—those family images often become the most cherished keepsakes. I provide a selection of gowns, fabrics and props to make the session easier, though you’re welcome to bring your own pieces if you prefer. Studio sessions typically last around one to one-and-a-half hours; outdoor sessions, depending on the locations, range from about one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half hours.
