I'm Patricia Aguilar, a mother and photographer based in Castro-Urdiales, and my work centers on one thing: telling the real story of motherhood. After realizing too late that I had no photos in which I truly appeared as a mother, I decided to dedicate myself to giving other families what I missed. That's what I call “photos of being a mother”: sincere, intimate, unadorned images that your children will want to look at in years to come. My approach is documentary: I don't pursue perfect poses but authentic moments. In a maternity session I work so that you can forget the camera and focus on being with your family. Small gestures emerge — a hand on the belly, an unexpected laugh, a shared look — and over time those are the moments that matter. That maternal gaze I value is what I try to capture in each maternity photo book or pregnancy session. How do I work? Before the session we talk via WhatsApp or email to answer questions and help with location and clothing. I give simple, practical guidelines so you feel like yourself: no costumes, just garments that reflect the way you live. I can photograph you at home, at a nearby comfortable spot in Castro-Urdiales, or outdoors depending on what you prefer; the important thing is that you feel calm and natural. Sessions tend to unfold in a relaxed atmosphere, between laughter and quiet pauses, and last as long as necessary to capture the essentials. My experience as a mother gives me a special sensitivity to anticipate those unrepeatable instants and to accompany you with respect and warmth.
