I’m Cristina Calafell, the photographer behind Calafell Photography, and I dedicate my work with passion to maternity photography. My style is close, natural, and minimalist. I make the session’s protagonist — you — the absolute focus: I work with soft tones, discreet backgrounds and textures, and compositions that convey calm. I shoot both in studio, where I control the light and create a warm, comfortable atmosphere, and outdoors, using landscapes and natural light to add color and movement to the images. How do I work? Before the session we have a conversation to get to know each other, hear your ideas, and recommend the best timing for the shoot (usually between weeks 32 and 35 so the bump is nicely rounded). After booking I send a practical wardrobe guide and suggestions for combining looks: my intention is for you to feel yourself, comfortable and beautiful, without forced poses. During the session I accompany you in a calm and respectful way; I guide you with simple directions so poses arise naturally and feel fresh. In my studio everything is arranged to make the experience pleasant: comfortable temperature, controlled lighting and carefully chosen props. If you prefer outdoors, I look for nearby locations in Calafell and the surrounding area with favorable light and settings that enhance the intimate atmosphere of the session.
