Irene Nounou

I’m Irene Nounou, a photographer specialized in maternity photography with a studio in the Sagrada Família area of Barcelona. My work is guided by the belief that pregnancy is a unique story that deserves to be told with care, sensitivity and a considered aesthetic. I describe myself as a photographer of scenes and emotions: I aim to capture everyday gestures, couple intimacy and the intimate beauty of motherhood, transforming them into images that truly move you. Why choose a session with me? Because I commit fully: I prepare every shoot with your personality, the location and the light that best represent you in mind. I offer sessions in my Sagrada Família studio for an elegant, minimalist look; outdoor shoots for a poetic, natural atmosphere; and lifestyle sessions at home if you prefer a more intimate, authentic approach. I accompany expectant mothers from the very first conversation: we discuss ideas, visual references and wardrobe so the session reflects exactly how you want to remember this moment. My approach is natural, respectful and focused on making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. During the session I work calmly and conversationally, looking for simple poses and spontaneous looks that convey emotion. If you wish, I provide wardrobe advice and can include analogue (film) photography to add a different texture and tonal latitude to some images. All of this happens within a relaxed atmosphere: soft music, breaks when needed and a pace guided by your comfort. Behind my work is my training and an analytical eye shaped over the years; I studied Social and Cultural Anthropology, which helps me understand non-verbal language and family dynamics—elements that enrich my photography. My goal is not just to take beautiful photos, but to create memories that bring back sensations: the warmth of an embrace, the certainty of a shared moment, the smallness of a bump that will soon give way to a new life.
