Atypical Photos

We are Miriam and Edu, a team of photographer-parents who have turned our passion for photography into a way to preserve essential memories. At Atypical Photos we specialize in maternity photography: our maternity sessions in Sant Joan Despí aim to capture the tenderness, strength and connection of this unique moment. Why choose us: our experience as parents has taught us to work calmly, respectfully and with great sensitivity. We’ve trained with national and international professionals and combine technical skill with tenderness to create natural, luminous images full of feeling. We work in a natural‑light studio designed to make you feel comfortable: we take care of every prop and wardrobe detail so the session reflects your style and the family’s personality. Our approach and style: we prefer soft light and clean compositions that emphasize the shape of the bump and the expressions. We look for spontaneous, emotive photos rather than stiff poses; the goal is that when you look at the images you feel again the emotion and affection experienced during pregnancy. We like to include personal details —ultrasounds, tiny shoes, beloved garments— that make each maternity book unique and intimate. How we work: we accompany you from booking to final delivery. We recommend scheduling the session around weeks 32–34 to show the bump at its best, and suggest bringing a personal outfit to customize the session. Partners and siblings are welcome: family photos broaden the memory and add warmth. During the session we create a relaxed, unhurried and close atmosphere: we adapt to your pace to obtain sincere, relaxed images. Our promise: maternity photos that convey emotion and beauty, made by a warm, approachable team who understand what it means to become a family. Although our main specialty is maternity photography, we also take family photo reports and occasionally photograph weddings; in every case our voice is the same: sensitivity, natural light and care in every image.
