I’m Katy, the photographer behind Hipatia Fotografía, and I dedicate myself passionately to maternity photography. As a specialist in maternity sessions, my aim is to turn the waiting period into images that move you, created in a warm, safe studio in Barrio de Peral, Cartagena. I approach every session as a small story: intimate, thoughtfully prepared, and designed so the mother-to-be feels beautiful and comfortable. My approach to maternity photo sessions is sensitive and personalized. Since 2015 I have been honing my eye in this discipline and I continue updating my skills to offer a maternity album with a distinct style: clean, luminous images with a natural aesthetic that honors each woman’s essence. In the studio I provide selected dresses, fabrics and tops to create delicate, elegant compositions; if you prefer to bring your own clothes, I give guidelines (jeans and a white shirt for informal shots, neutral-toned underwear, strapless bra) so the results feel coherent and comfortable. How I work: before the session I ask you to send visual references via WhatsApp so I understand the style you like. Maternity sessions are usually held between weeks 28 and 35, when the bump is defined but the mum-to-be is still physically comfortable. In the studio we create a calm atmosphere, with gentle movements, minimal makeup and natural hair styling so you don’t feel disguised, always prioritizing privacy and respect. During the shoot, if you wish, we take skin-to-skin images or neutral-clothed portraits to capture family connection; partner and siblings’ participation is welcome and is integrated with care. I deliver a carefully edited result in high resolution and advise you on how to preserve and present that memory: from digital files to elegant albums.
